A Network Economic Game Theory Model of a Service-Oriented Internet with Choices and Quality Competition

چکیده
This paper develops a new dynamic network economic model of Cournot-Nash competition for a service-oriented Internet in the case of service differentiation and quality competition. Each service provider seeks to maximize its own profit by determining its service volumes and service quality. We utilize variational inequality theory for the formulation of the governing Nash equilibrium as well as for the computational approach. We then construct the projected dynamical systems model, which provides a continuous-time evolution of the service providers service volumes and service quality levels, and whose set of stationary points coincides with the set of solutions to the variational inequality problem. We recall stability analysis results using a monotonicity approach and construct a discrete-time version of the continuous-time adjustment process, which yields an algorithm, with closed form expressions

Changes in a Service Oriented Enterprise: A Game Theory Approach
Service Oriented Enterprises (SOEs) are subject to constant change and variation. In this paper, the changes are considered from an economic perspective based on service culture notion. Once a change is implemented, the costs of some member services may increase, whereas the costs of some other services may reduce. We construct a game theoretic model trying to capture the possible conflicting i...
متن کاملCompetition, complementarity and service level guarantee in Web services
Network and processing overhead associated with web services is a significant challenge to its performance. As a result, web service providers often announce a service level agreement. This ensures that consumers, who pay for the service, can get the service at a given quality level. In this paper, we study the competition between two providers offering functionally the same web services, whe...
متن کاملWeb Service Providers\' Game on Price and Service Level
Response time is one of the critical web service quality dimensions. It refers to how long it takes that a web service responds to request of a user. In order to manage the response time, pricing schemes can work as an efficient access control mechanism. In this paper, we study competition between two providers offering functionally same web services where there is a monopoly service provider...
متن کاملA Cournot-Nash-Bertrand game theory model of a service-oriented Internet with price and quality competition among network transport providers
This paper develops a game theory model of a service-oriented Internet in which profit-maximizing service providers provide substitutable (but not identical) services and compete with the quantities of services in a Cournot-Nash manner, whereas the network transport providers, which transport the services to the users at the demand markets, and are also profit-maximizers, compete with prices in...
متن کاملMulti-objective Modeling Based on Competition Airlines Cooperation by Game Theory and Sustainable Development Approach
In each time period, the demand of passengers for each route are finite and airlines compete for earning more profits. The complex competition among airlines causes problems, such as complicating flight planning and increasing empty seats for some routes. These problems increase air pollution and fuel consumption. To solve these problems, this research studies the cooperation of the airlines wi...
